The Forest Fuels way instils the responsibility for care over health and safety matters right down to each individual member of staff, as Mark Close explained, “It’s not about dictating rules and regulations and quoting scary statistics, instead we take the approach of training and communication amongst team members. The more we can get everyone across the business to understand about how we operate and where the areas of potential risk are, the more successful we can be in creating the culture of prevention and risk-reduction to reach and maintain our target of zero harm.”

Peter Solly shares secret of Forest Fuels’ growth with region’s leading business chiefs

SW Business Insider - Peter Solly

The growth and development of the biomass industry was debated last week at a Business Insider roundtable event, when Forest Fuels' managing director Peter Solly was asked to share his experiences with senior business leaders from across the region.

The debate, hosted by South West Business Insider magazine, focussed on business development and confidence across all industries; opportunities for top-line growth in 2016/17; which markets are growing; which markets are shrinking; and the barriers for further growth.

“It was an extremely informative event,” said Peter, “which highlighted many of the issues and opportunities that all leading businesses – from a variety of industries across the South West – are facing.”

£10 million in funding available for biomass boilers
Business leaders at the event were particularly interested in Peter’s announcement that Forest Fuels has £10 million in funding available, right now, to help businesses across the UK bring biomass boiler projects alive.

“It’s satisfying to give the business community the reassurance that biomass is very much a growth industry, with excellent prospects for business in the industry and for businesses that wish to move away from heating their sites with fossil fuels.

“Other business leaders were interested to hear how Forest Fuels’ energy supply contracts and commercial boiler buy-back schemes are already enabling organisations to eliminate their reliance on fossil fuels, lower their heating bills and often have a lump sum to invest back into their operations.”

Forest Fuels - Insider mediaThe Insider event – which also addressed the barriers to achieving growth (such as skills, access to finance and supply costs); areas for potential investment; issues around Brexit; and whether digital concerns are disrupting business – featured 15 leading business figures from around the south west and was chaired by Graham Southorn, editor of South West Business Insider. It took place at Sandy Park Conference Centre in Exeter.

There will be a full report on the round table event in the December issue of South West Business Insider magazine.

Forest Fuels’ Energy Supply Contracts – ESCos

Fully funded biomass boilers

The environmental argument for installing a biomass boiler against using fossil fuels is extremely compelling. Biomass wood fuel is sustainable, kinder to the planet and can help significantly  towards reducing carbon emissions. So why hasn’t everybody moved over to cleaner, greener wood fuel? The initial purchase and set up cost can be substantial which can be a problem. Now there’s a solution because you can get a fully funded installation for a commercial biomass boiler on a long term assured Energy Supply Contract from Forest Fuels.
